Altamaha Technical College recognizes graduates

JESUP, Ga. (January 23, 2012) – Altamaha Technical College held its winter graduation ceremony Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Unity Church of God in Jesup.

Before a large crowd, and assisted by Board Chairman Randal Morris of Glynn County, Altamaha Technical College President Lorette Hoover conferred 287 associate degrees, diplomas, technical certificates of credit and General Education Diplomas (GED) to an excited Class of 2011, most whom completed their coursework during the Fall 2011 semester. A total of 284 students completed their GED during the Fall 2011 semester with 26 who elected to participate in graduation.

Technical college getting a boost

Altamaha Technical College is expecting to see a 7 percent increase in overall enrollment for spring semester.

Altamaha Tech has campuses in Jesup, Baxley, Camden County, Hazlehurst and Glynn County.

For Adrian Chambliss, a cosmetology student at the college's campus at the Golden Isles Career Academy, it means having new people to meet.
